Try-outs will begin on Saturday, October 15 and continue through Friday, October 21.  Times & locations will vary as gym space is limited while volleyball is in postseason play.  The first week's schedule is:

Saturday, October 15: 8:00-9:45 a.m. (WJHS)

Monday, October 17: 4:45-6:45 p.m. (Coolidge Building)

Tuesday, October 18: 4:45-7:00 p.m. (Coolidge Building)

Wednesday, October 19: 4:45-7:00 p.m. (Coolidge Building)

Thursday, October 20: 6:45-9:00 p.m. (WJHS)

Friday, October 21: 4:45-6:30 p.m. (Coolidge Building)

Saturday, October 22: 12:15-2:00 p.m. (WJHS)

Please note that anyone still playing a fall sport (football, soccer, etc.) will not try-out until their season has finished. NO ONE WILL BE PENALIZED (OR CUT) FOR PLAYING A FALL SPORT. Any fall sport athletes who want to try-out need to come see me at the conclusion of their fall season.

No cuts will be made on October 15, but will begin at the conclusion of the Monday, October 17 session. Additional cuts may be made each day with final cuts anticipated no later than October 21. The selection of team members will be based on each individual’s ability to contribute to one of our teams (Varsity, JV, or Freshmen) this year and/or his ability to contribute in future years. Our program has a history of success and the selection of the roster is a highly competitive process. If you wish to meet with me in advance of try-outs to discuss your chances of making the team, and/or what you need to demonstrate to our coaching staff in try-outs, please let me know and I will be happy to share my opinion.

In order to try-out a student must have a completed KHSAA Physical Exam Form on file with our Athletic Director.  Physicals are good for one year (plus 30 days) from the date of the exam. Please see me if you need a blank copy of the form.

Additionally, each student must be registered on FinalForms.  Please complete all requested information, including parent and student signature sections.

Finally, if you previously attended any high school prior to enrolling at West Jessamine then a KHSAA Transfer Form must be completed, processed, and you must be ruled eligible before being allowed to participate in a VARSITY contest. This applies regardless of whether or not you played basketball at the previous school. If you have not gone through the transfer process please see me so that we can get it done ASAP.
