Try-outs will begin on Monday, October 26.  The try-out schedule will be:

• Monday, October 26 - Grade 9 (4:00-5:00 p.m. at WJHS); Grades 10-12 (6:00-7:30 p.m. at Nicholasville Elementary School)
• Tuesday, October 27 - Grades 9-12 (6:30-8:45 p.m. at West MIDDLE)
• Wednesday, October 28 - Grade 9 (4:00-5:00 p.m. at WJHS); Grades 10-12 (6:00-7:30 p.m. at NES)
• Thursday, October 29 - Grade 9 (4:00-5:30 p.m. at WJHS); Grades 10-12 (6:00-7:30 p.m. at NES)

Please note that anyone still playing a fall sport (football, soccer, etc.) will not try-out until their season has finished.  NO ONE WILL BE PENALIZED (OR CUT) FOR PLAYING A FALL SPORT.  Any fall sport athletes who want to try-out need to come see me at the conclusion of their fall season.

No cuts will be made on Monday, October 26, but will begin at the conclusion of the Tuesday, October 27 session.  Additional cuts may be made each day with final cuts on Thursday, October 29.  The selection of team members will be based on each individual’s ability to contribute to one of our teams (Varsity, JV, or Freshmen) this year and/or his ability to contribute in future years.  Our program has a history of success and the selection of the roster is a highly competitive process.  If you wish to meet with me in advance of try-outs to discuss your chances of making the team, and/or what you need to demonstrate to our coaching staff in try-outs, please let me know and I will be happy to share my opinion.

In order to try-out a student must have a completed KHSAA Physical Exam Form on file with me.  Physicals are good for one year (plus 30 days) from the date of the exam.  Please see me if you need a blank copy of the form.

Finally, if you previously attended any high school prior to enrolling at West Jessamine then a KHSAA Transfer Form must be completed, processed, and you must be ruled eligible before being allowed to participate in a VARSITY contest.  This applies regardless of whether or not you played basketball at the previous school.  If you have not gone through the transfer process please see me so that we can get it done ASAP.
